Some more interesting information in his own words:

I started playing chess at 9 (almost 10), and I got interest in it from my grandfather while I was in vacation in Germany in Summer. Then, later, I was sent to a great school in Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, New York, where I met Misha Katz. He got me to love chess a lot, and he liked kids very much. I got up from beginner to 1800 with him in only 2 years. Then, for 3 years until I was 15, I had an experienced Russian coach of Mikhail Trossman, who at his younger ages, coached GM's Huzman, Dorfman, and IM Irina Krush, one of the top woman players of USA. He with my hard work and desire to learn new things got me to 2300 level. Along with that, a lot of chess practice was important. I continued playing a lot of small tournaments after I left him and was on my own. Now I can only thank my father, grandfather, my 2 coaches, my wonderful coach FM Aviv Friedman during World Youths, along with GM Benjamin who prepared me for my final decisive round there, Igor Novikov with whom I worked for about a month just before World Youths and World Open( my final IM norm), and to everyone else who rooted for me, and gave me desire to play chess, and gave me a chance to improve.
