I'm an official vendor on the Internet Chess Club and my lessons are 30 chekels per hr and 10 chekels for each additional 30 minutes for a lesson. Prepaid 6 2-hour lessons is 250 chekels for some discount.
My available times are:
Those available times aren't automatically always all going to work, so if something important comes up, I will make sure I say at least three days in advance if we have scheduled lessons. I'm asking for the same courtesy from my students to tell me in advance if something comes up because I have a very busy schedule. If there is no room for you in my available times, we can talk more so that we can try to squeeze in another time which is not my regular available time, meaning it might not be when I'm home, therefore most likely only 1-hour lessons.
I also play training games at 1 checkel for 5 1 game, 2 checkels for 10 2 game, 3 checkels for 15 3 game, 4 checkels for 20 4 game and 5 checkels for 25 5 game, with brief analysis, but certainly can be analyzed after if you desire during the real lesson. This gives you a lot of practice with a strong player, where I will try my best to play my full strength level. Also, to desire fighting, in case you draw the game, the next game we play, will be with one checkel discount, while if you win the game, your next game you get free! This is to desire fighting chess and competition and also interest in games as in real tournaments, instead of just practice.
As my student you also can get more benefits, regarding my simuls, timeodds events, and overall the way I treat you. Examples are playing you twice in timeodds, letting you latejoin in simuls, playing openings you want, and being nice to you!
In my lessons, I generally go over your games, show you your mistakes, sometimes test you on something we did before, say in similar positions, and similar ideas. This was, I help you opening wise, as we go over new openings, opening ideas, plans, and the moves themselves from you playing games, and playing different openings. Then, we go over your positional ideas and tactical ideas, of which the most important is how to convert from positional advantage to tactical wins, and how to improve your position in order to get the opportunities to make very nice combinations. Finally, last but not least, we go over endgames, which is probably most important in chess, as it's probably the hardest part of the game to understand and play well. A lot of people make mistakes in over studying openings and not spend a lot of time on chess itself, including endgames. Without endgames, you will spoil a lot of good and maybe even winning positions. Even though I don't have a wide opening reportoire, I have a lot of experience and feel for ideas in openings. I also have 2 of my favorite openings, the Smith-Morra Gambit, and the Slav with the bf5 line, in which I can make you an expert, and win a lot of very nice games in it, from your opponents having a hard time defending it, as it's not easy to do so.
I can give you a lot of psychological standpoints in chess as well, as I have an 8 year experience in playing chess, and there are a lot of things that are important in chess, such as fighting, when to make certain traps when to not, time pressure play, and not to make some psychological mistakes. We can go over some of that stuff while we have a lesson if the topic brings up to possibly a psychological mistake you made throughout the game, which is very important.
I try my absolute best in order to make your lesson fun, and my warning is: In my opinion, my lessons are best fit for players from beginners to 2100 level. At this level I highly recommend you myself, but I accept all. The only difference is for over 2100 my lessons might not be as effective to you, one reason being is my opening reportoire. Although no one really complained about it, I sometimes feel I didn't give as much to the students.
I am now much more equipped for teaching kids and beginners, all ages, and I have some experience with that. I have a lot of new methods now under my belt in teaching lower-rated people, including 3 very good books, and a lot of new methods of teaching.
I try to give you a lot of desire into loving chess, and getting you into the spirit of chess. Also, I'd greatly appreciate if you'd tell me anything what you don't like me doing, or the way I'm running the lessons. I'll definitely try to best fit you in giving you exactly what you want, and go over exactly what you want. Keep in mind, I don't just go over games, but if you need to I can try to help you go over an opening, or some other interesting positions which you might not be sure of.
